The Trestle Pine Gunflint Knife is the fifth in a series of folding knives whose origins are traced to my years of hunting, camping, fishing and hiking around the Gunflint Trail.  Simplicity of design combined with old growth wood handles and modern powdered steel CPM154 blades resulting in a functional knife built for years of use.

In addition to the Old Growth Oak, Ash, Maple and Yellow Birch there are a number of exotic wood, Mammoth Ivory and Stag handle options.  A total of 200 Trestle Pine Gunflints were built with roughly half with the Old Growth Wood handles.  There are fewer then 25 of each handle material available.

Trestle Pine Knives Gunflint

.The Gunflint Trail is now a winding, 57 mile road that takes you Northwest from the shore of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, Minnesota to its end at Saganaga Lake near the Canadian Border.  This beautiful drive follows the original trail used by the Voyageurs and Ojibway leading them to Gunflint Lake where they collected "Chert" (flint) for fire starting, making stone tools and for use in flintlock weapons.
